Quick repairs to zippers, blown seams, broken snaps & hardware, and more.

What to expect

Like every boat, each project is unique. The overall process is three simple simple steps that starts with a conversation. This works best as a phone call so that I can answer any questions you have and discuss the specifics of your project in detail. My goal in this call is to be able to give you the information you need to decide how to proceed, including a rough price range and timing. If you'd prefer to start with email, that works too.

New canvas

  1. Discovery. In this first step I'll meet you at your boat to do a thorough examination of any existing canvas and hardware, and to finalize the design direction with you. By the end of the next business day I'll provide a project proposal which includes pricing and the project schedule.
  2. Patterning and fabrication. I will need access to your boat for 2-3 hours to digitally capture your boat. I use CAD to design your canvas,  which enables complete production without any additional fitting steps on your boat. Fabrication can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the size of your boat, and the scope and complexity of your project.
  3. Installation is the final step, and includes placing and installing snaps and other hardware. This is a critical and detailed step which can take 2-8 hours.

Repairs

Repairs are done at a flat rate of $150/hour, with a one hour minimum. Most repairs can be completed in an hour, and rarely more than 2 hours. If your repair will take more than two hours, it's likely time to think about replacing your canvas. Turn-around time for repairs is typically 1-2 business days.

For all repairs, I require that you remove the canvas from your boat. This is because removing canvas can sometimes lead to additional issues, especially with older canvas with thread that is near the end of its life. I'll meet you at your boat to pick up your canvas, and again to drop it off.
